Sieva Diamantakos was born in 1980 in Rome and grew up in Liguria, near Genoa. He started filming while attending university in Bologna and Amsterdam. After graduating from university with a degree in art, music and entertainment, he moved to Genoa, where he worked as an operator for the Costa Crociere company.
Later, he became a member of an indie electronic group that inspired his imagination like nothing else. He developed a poetic visual language that was an integral part of Port Royal – an audiovisual show. For seven years, he toured with the team all over the world, especially in such eastern countries as Ukraine, Serbia, Poland…
Despite such an intensive schedule, Sieva deepened his skills in many fields (commercial and independent) as a director, cameraman, editor and VJ. Having developed a strong interest in Eastern countries, he decided to move to Kyiv. There he started working on the documentary film “Postcards from Ukraine”, which reflected the political and social crisis in Ukraine. The film was shown at the 46th Film Festival “Youth”, the 2nd Festival of Social Film in Perugia, the 19th Film Festival in Genia, won the best documentary film at AmiiWorkFilmFest. After moving to Berlin, he founded Blitzar Media with Natalia Fentisova, a company specializing in video-audio production, from trailers to documentaries, graphic films and commercials. In Berlin, he realized his second documentary film “Travel Diary” about an illegal techno club in the center of Berlin, the release of which is planned for 2019. Sieva Diamantakos’ work is deeply influenced by philosophy (mainly existentialism), sociology and the interaction of man and technology. His filmmaking style consists of both insightful and emotional approach.
