A young German guy Michel, being inspired by Ukrainian nature, moves to the Carpathians. In the mountains, he starts breeding water buffalos that are on the verge of extinction. The young man dreams of devoting all his time to what he does, but he has to shuttle between Ukraine and Germany where he also works in the family business and dates his girlfriend Vera. Being neglected, buffalos start getting ill. Moreover, Michel’s personal life is not a bed of roses either: Vera is not sure if she could bring up two kids in a remote Carpathian settlement.
